Family Photos at Riverwoods | Logan, Utah Family Photographer

When your clients are also your friends, the session is never just a session—it’s a whole event, filled with laughter, teasing, and just the right amount of chaos. That’s exactly how it felt photographing one of my dearest friends, Karen, and her beautiful family at the Riverwoods Conference Center along the River Walk in Logan, Utah.

Four women smiling, wearing denim and casual tops in a forest setting. They stand closely with arms linked, creating a warm, friendly mood.

The River Walk gave us that soft, scenic backdrop that feels straight out of a movie—trees glowing with that golden hour light, a gentle breeze, and so much space for each kid to be themselves. And honestly, that's what made this session so fun: the realness.

Karen and I have a special kind of bond (rooted in our shared obsession with all things true crime… but funnily, I promise 😂). So you can imagine how things went when she tried to micromanage the shoot like any protective mom would. I lovingly had to shoo her off more than once while her girls and I giggled behind the camera.

This session was extra special because their second-oldest daughter is getting ready to graduate, so we also worked in some senior photos. It was the perfect mix of documenting their season of life as a family and celebrating a huge milestone for their daughter.

Oh, and if you’re wondering—yes, Karen is a redhead. And yes, I fully blame that for her bossy energy 😉 (Love you, Karen.)

Why Riverwoods is the Perfect Spot for Logan Family Photos

Riverwoods Conference Center and the River Walk in Logan, Utah, are absolute gems for family photography. Whether you're chasing toddlers or capturing a graduating senior, it has a little bit of everything.

Final Thoughts

Sessions like this remind me why I love what I do. It’s not just about pretty pictures—it’s about connection, real moments, and the stories behind the smiles. Families grow and change so fast, and being able to freeze these sweet, chaotic, hilarious little slices of life? It’s the best part of my job.

Can’t wait to see what we capture next. ❤️
